Persimmon

This delicious oriental ornamental fruit is native to China. The best growth of persimmon tree is in areas with moderate winters and relatively mild summers.

Vitamins 

  • Persimmon helps prevent macular degeneration in old age. Dried persimmons are a very good source of vitamins C, which is another powerful antioxidant. Regular consumption of foods rich in vitamins C helps the body increase its resistance to infectious agents, harmful substances and inflammatory radicals. This fruit contains many vitamins in group B Like folic acid, pyridoxine (Vitamin B6), Thiamine and others. These vitamins act as cofactors for the function of many of the enzymatic metabolisms of the body.
  • Dried persimmons are low in fat and also have low-fat content, but it is a rich source of dietary fibre and catechins. Catechins have disinfectant, anti-inflammatory and anti-hemorrhagic properties (they prevent bleeding in small blood arteries). Freshly dried persimmons contain antioxidant compounds that act as protectors against free radicals.

Minerals 

Dried persimmon contains a good amount of minerals such as potassium, manganese, and phosphorus. Manganese is a cofactor for eliminating free radicals. Copper is a cofactor for many vital enzymes such as cytochrome C- Oxidase and superoxide dismutase. It is also necessary to produce red blood cells.
