  • Persimmon helps prevent macular degeneration in old age. Dried persimmons are a very good source of vitamins C, which is another powerful antioxidant. Regular consumption of foods rich in vitamins C helps the body increase its resistance to infectious agents, harmful substances and inflammatory radicals.
